It was the first ever Super Cup semi-final and both teams fancied their chances at the first whistle.

City Seagulls started the game very brightly and put together some decent passing sequences that Legion found hard to counter act and it wasn’t long before Lee K raced through and hit a low drive that took a deflection of the Legion keeper to give the Gulls that all important lead.
They continued to dominate and Lee was causing the Legion rearguard all kinds of problems and he should off added another but stuttered at the crucial time shooting an easy chance into the midriff of the keeper. It wasn’t long before Legion awakened from their sleep and started to get into the game and Pete went close only to see his effort flash wide of Simon Shiers in the Gulls goal, it was Simon who gifted Legion the equaliser after a poor throw out went straight to Tompkins and that man won’t hand back a gift and stuck it straight into the Gulls net. Lee Konrath again went through one on one and again the outcome was the same he hit the keeper and Nick Frost also went mightily close hitting the bar with a dipping effort as Seagulls pushed forward. Legion changed tactics and went a bit more direct and physical and that move paid dividends as Tompkins made it 2-1 after brushing Jason Tse of the ball. The Gulls fought straight back and again crashed the woodwork this time defender Darren saw his shot agonisingly hit the inside of the post and come back to the grateful arms of Elliot in the Legion goal they found the equaliser however after Lee squared to Frost who tapped home much to the delight of the sea of Gulls fans on the balcony. The Legion wave continued though as Ian Clelland hit the post but the assassin Tompkins hit his hat - trick and took Legion into the break at 3-2.

Legion come out the stronger and dominated early play and added a fourth thanks to Pete. The Gulls looked a doomed force after Lee again failed to breach Elliot who was clearly winning this personal dual with the Gulls striker. Nick Frost had been on the edge of the game but his persistent's and touch of quality helped the Gulls claw back to 5-3 with a well timed finish but again it was short lived as Pete showed who was boss netting the 6 for Legion and that goal took the final breath out of the Gulls sails and that was compounded with a penalty miss by Lee K. Iceman then went and made it 7 and in between a Tompkins and Paul brace the Gulls managed to net 4 more times but it was all in vain as Raff roared into the Final were they await the winner of Cov Legion or FC Heat.
