Welcome to Sunday league round up. Every week we review the 'week' gone by in association with NEWS in BRIEF
Two wins over FC Heat and City Seagulls earn Drive By FC this weeks award.
Crossbar 2 vs 13 GSH
An easy day at the office for title contenders GSH. They were in total control for all of the game and that win takes them to third in the league table.
FC Butterbean made very hard work of qualifying into the quarter finals as their lowly standing Division One opposition really put in a true cup performance. Trailing by one at the break St George Utd were still in the game but a hat-trick from Ross helped the Beans gambol over the finish line and into the next round.
Danny's Boys 10 vs 7 St George Utd
Steve was again the star of the show hitting four goals along the way to his teams victory.
Motley Barnets 5 vs 5 The Business
A good score draw between two improving teams.
Former Sunday Division One runners up K.Kobras returned in the Inter League Cup to demolish a poor Cov Jags. Manager and known as the 'Gash Man' Ollie, was excellent throughout and must surely be pushing for a Friday International call up.
Cov Jags continued on winning ways in the league as they beat a mediocre Football Factory.
Drive By FC were missing Tom 'Dildo Boy' Hexx who was auditioning for a straight to DVD movie entitled 'Policeman’s Truncheon' but still managed to score an excellent victory over the luke warm Heat Boys .
Never Enough 11 vs 3 Cov Legion
The timely return of fashion icon Taylor who had been in New York attending Mardi Grai in the last few weeks was back, and his heroic goalkeeping display coupled with the impressive performance of midfielder Scott handed the 'Party Boys' the 4 deserved points over a very disappointing Seagulls outfit.
City Rejects suffered a scare to their unbeaten league run as the Pudlians held the Rejects at half time (2-2) but the usual self destruction and depletion cost the Pudlians and the City Rejects show rolls on...........
FC Heat 3 vs 6 Drive By FC
A high voltage game which saw Champions Never Enough show their supremacy. Both teams never shirked a challenge but it was the dancing feet of former Legion striker Danny Thompson that outshone the rest, hitting half of Never Enough's goals.
The ever impressive Lee was the big difference between the two team. Pre season signing Lee bagged another four goals and man of match award but it is rumoured that the Star striker is already planning life away from the Gulls after being overheard talking 'business' with TWO leading 1st Division clubs.
A stroll in the park for the REDS Division One leaders and they could even afford the luxury of their goalkeeper missing a penalty.
Cov Jags 12 vs 8 Football Factory
City Rejects 7 vs 3 Pudlians
A games that you could watch forever as these two sides always deliver a P.P.V performance. A rivalry built over the seasons continued on Sunday but the teams could not be separated goals from Maj (Allstars) and Noonie (Never Enough) complete the stats.
City Seagulls 5 vs 8 Drive By FC
January's Friday Division One Team of the Month Cyprus Utd were handed a rare defeat as the Sunday side dismantled the Cypriotes in splendid fashion, with goals coming from Nick J (2), Johnny W (1) and a James McDade got the other. Cyprus goals coming curtsey of Andros (2) and one from Theo.
Pudlians 3 vs 7 Lloyds Bar
A real team performance won this for Adam and his troops and even though a missed Penalty by Lil Ash they still rattled in enough to submit Pudlains to a fifth league defeat.
Football F 6 vs 17 Toon Army
City Seagulls 9 vs 6 The Business
A gutsy FC Heat gave their all in their mammoth task of slaying the African Lions. Heat were only 3-2 down at half time but that just made the Playerz slip into fourth gear for a while and took a lead that Heat could not claw back and sees the Playerz reach the last eight.
