Welcome to Sunday league round up. Every week we review the 'week' gone by in association with NEWS in BRIEF
FC Heat's Jason - The International star was unstoppable in his sides Inter League Cup victory.
Crossbar 6 vs 5 Football Factory
A game of literally two halves Football Factory had the better of the first period and led 3-2 at the break. It was a different story second half as the much improved Crossbar shone and deserved the slender victory come the final whistle.
FC Butterbean will look back on this tie and wonder how the score line was as wide as it finished. Butterbean were excellent throughout with Friday International Will a constant menace to Raff's side. The quality of finishing is what won Legion the game and despite a splendid performance from Dave Johnson in the Butterbean goal he was unable to halt the in form Pegan who notched two of his sides goals and created many more.
FC Butterbean 5 vs 7 M.V.P's
It was a game M.V.P's looked destined to win from the first whistle as young striker Nick tormented the Butterbean defence and seamlessly everything the young man hit registered on the M.V.P's goal tally he hit 4 goals and they were backed up by two from Mark Quinn and one from Ondraj.
FC Butterbean manager Dave Jones told News in Brief after the game " We just have to many players and using the squad to ensure everyone gets a game is hindering us at times especially the flow of our football" he added " We are looking at creating a feeder team in Division One which I hope will be sorted over the next few weeks".
Lloyds Bar 4 vs 8 Playerz
Goals from Muzo (3), Chucksee (2) and a hat-trick from the pocket dynamo Gino were enough to seal the victory over a plucky Lloyds Bar.
Cov Legion 20 vs 3 Old Boys
The fallen giants Old boys sunk to an all time low as the 4 men of the Boy's were absolutely annihilated by Cov Legion. The bizarre twist to the tale of this game was that Old Boys had former great Kim Green kited out but the veteran striker refused to play for Jazz and his team and that left Cov Legion to pick at the bones of Old Boys and subject them to the heaviest defeat in the clubs illustrious history. One thing is for sure Old Boys can't not sink any lower and now the only way is up or else they will fall into retirement and just be a fond memory within the history of 5Star Promotions
St George finally felt that winning feeling with an excellent win over their fellow new side.
City Rejects were made to work in spells in this Inter League Cup clash. Rejects were finding it hard to shake of their 1st division opponents in the first half as Spartans carved opened chances but fluffed the most important part of scoring goals while in contrast City Rejects were more deadlier and even 'I get a nose bleed if I pass the halfway line' Danny Elkin managed to hit a hat-trick which is as rare as a Spartans win at the moment.
Toon Army 10 vs 7 Danny's Boys
FC Heat qualified into the next round of the Inter League Cup and it was mainly thanks to the feet of Jason W who ran the show from start to finish. By the time Danny's Boys found their own feet it was late in the second half and the game was just that little bit beyond them but it was mainly the superb FC Heat performance that will send shivers down the spines of their fellow title chasers.
A return to winning ways for the Jags as they sealed the victory despite being held at the break.
300 Spartans 2 vs 8 City Rejects
Danny's Boys will be beating themselves up this week after letting a 5-4 advantage slip in the second half of this game. Knowing Toon Army are flying at the moment Danny's Boys failed to seize their moment and allowed Toon Army to continue on their march to a possible league and cup double.
A win in which Pudlians could feel was their biggest in the Clubs 5Star history as they outfought, out played and out thought the high flying Allstars. The win was greeted with a roar of satisfaction and in Tom they really have a player who is catching the eye.
Sloppy play and the failer to string two passes together was the ultimate downfall of 300 Spartans. A side that have lost their way over the last few weeks were just swept aside by the Division One leaders.
St George Utd 11 vs 4 Football Factory
Cov Jags 6 vs 4 City Seagulls
Hit and miss striker Johnny Wilkinson was in the groove as his 3 goals helped the Barnets haul another 4pts to their league tally and the win keeps them right in the title race as they hit 4th spot in the Reds 1st Division.
FC Heat 10 vs 6 Danny's Boys
A sober but slightly red faced Drive By FC picked up their third win of their league campaign as they proved too experienced for St George Utd on the day.
Sporting their new Barcelona kit The Business failed to get the Business done as GSH edged the encounter which was a bit of dull and maybe a draw would have been the fairer result.
Drive By FC 10 vs 9 St George Utd
A result which further proves that no one will run away with the 1st Division title or the Reds Shield as City Seagulls shook off their earlier defeat to record a wonderful victory over the powerful GSH.
Motley Barnets 9 vs 3 Crossbar
