Welcome to Sunday league round up. Every week we review the 'week' gone by in association with NEWS in BRIEF
Motley Barnet's for reaching the Presidents Cup and the New Team Cup Final.
300 Spartans 8 vs 0 Degeneration X
E.O.S.C
Our newest team DX were unable to get off the mark as 300 Spartans done what they expected to do. Degeneration X were fielding a Hall of Famer in the shape of Gavin Lee and also veteran Friday International skipper Steve Bolas and together they helped out the inexperienced side but it wasn’t enough and 300 Spartans remain unbeaten in the competition.
Wookies 4 vs 2 The Business
E.O.S.C
The Wookies with the ‘Animal’ Carl Pickup in the nets proved they have a decent set up now brushing aside the talented Business with ease. Goals from Adam P (2), Jason and Steve but the plaudits go to the Animal who proved his credentials with a solid goalkeeping display.

Motley Barnets 6 vs 4 Butterbean SC
New Team Cup
The inform and favourites to go through Butterbean SC were sensationally knocked out with one foot in the prestigious Presidents Cup. Fancied by many to win this game with relative ease after performances of games gone by but Butterbean were shocked straight out the blocks as Motley Barnets started fast and were soon 2 nil up and the Barnets extended that lead to 3-1 by half time and it was all down to the majestic Nick Janda who hit all three and all with class written over them. Motley Barnets continued to grow in the second half and dominated a flat Butterbean outfit. Not to be outdone by his team mate’s first half display the BIG man Johnny Wilkinson owned the second half like an Eastern block pimp owns his Ho’s up in Hillfields. The dangly striker was showing fleet feet as he danced his way through the Butterbean team before crashing the ball into the top corner to cap of an excellent individual display and more importantly for his team a place in the New Team Cup Final and one of the sixteen places in the Presidents Cup.

City Seagulls 7 vs 16 Cov Legion
End of season Cup
City Seagulls were truly thumped by a rampant Cov Legion who led an amazing 9-1 at half time. Bigger men, better quality and better hunger were the main factors in the Legion win. Many question the size of Nick Frost’s managerial grapefruits when it comes to the big games with big opponents and on this showing the Flamboyant one needs to check his little seeds.
Playerz 2 vs 1 City Rejects
City Rejects will feel disappointed after missing out on the spoils in the clash the second spot. Rejects as documented were missing key players who posses excellent quality. They put up a real good fight in a dull affair and perhaps on the balance of things the draw would have been the fairer result but the winning goal was a hard pill to swallow at Chucksee netted late on to secure the 4pts for The Playerz.
City Rejects 7 vs 4 The Business
End of Season Cup
City Rejects didn’t have it all their own way as the Business pushed them all the way in this E.O.S.C group clash. Rejects missing a host of star men still had the personal to do a number on the Division One side but The Business still in a daze on losing out on promotion held the Premiership giants to 2-2 at the break which left a furious Rejects manager Terry to have stern words with is troops and the Cockney manager sent them out with fire in their bellies and bullets in their football shoes and his lads responded with a second half blitz that a small force like The Business couldn’t handle and the Rejects won the battle quite comfortably.
Never Enough 5 vs 4 FC Butterbean
Inter League Cup Semi - Final
FC Butterbean pushed reigning Inter League Cup holders Never Enough all the way in this decent Semi-Final the Never Enough camp has scoffed at the fact the Plums had pushed them all the way in their final league encounter but Butterbean proved that they belong in this class. The score line should have been much different but for glaring misses by both teams and in the end the better team perhaps shaded it.
Excelsior 3 vs 5 Something Else
Champions League semi-final.
This competition is the Holy Grail for all the top teams and also brings the reward of a 6 new kits and the passion to win this competition was on full show. Games between these two either go bad or are a pleasure to watch and thankfully on this instance it was the latter. Excelsior shown their quality in the first half and were seemingly coasting. With the Something Else squad currently in disarray nobody really expected the fight back they produced in the second half and it was the young marvel Andy Watt’s Jr who finally stepped up to the plate and produced perhaps his best performance to date, certainly his most important as he orchestrated the Something Else revival and two sloppy lapses in defensive concentration by Excelsior helped seal their fate and Something Else march on into the biggest final of the season.

Allstar Rev 4 vs 4 Playerz
Champions League Semi-Final
The second semi-final of the Champions League and again the game was a cracker. Allstar Revolution have been piped in all quarters for glory in Season 06 and this represented their last hope. In the first half they showed their need and want to win this game and took a two nil lead thanks to two Tahir free kicks. Now everyone knows the failures of Allstar’s to finish the job when they have been leading in big games so what happened you ask? The same as usual as the Revolution boys threw away their advantage as the Playerz shifted into their secret gear and bought the game level and sending it into penalties. Always a tough task and many have been the fall guy when it comes to these ‘deciders’, Always a Hero and a Villain and this time the roles went to Jecko (Playerz) and Tahir (Allstar Rev).
