Welcome to Sunday league round up. Every week we review the 'week' gone by in association with NEWS in BRIEF
Playerz for two excellent cup wins and for being part of one of the games of the season.
FC Heat 3 vs 2 Butterbean SC
FC Heat secured second place with a hard fought victory over the Butterbean second string. These two sides always play out tight affairs on this was no different and the result could of went either way with both teams having numerous chances that they squandered, spectators must have lost count the amount of times Butterbean hit the woodwork but it’s the ones that go in that matter and Heat’s main striker Tom Gault was the man to win it scoring in the final seconds.

Butterbean SC 3 vs 4 City Seagulls
City Seagulls will finally play top flight football after finishing 3rd in Division. Arguably the most improved team of season 06 again must thank their potent strike force of Nick Frost and Lee whose killer instincts won them the game. Lee hit another hat-trick to finish of his league campaign with Frost adding the other. It was tight right down to the wire with Butterbean’s keeper Dave Johnson in splendid form saving a second half penalty but his heroics were not enough and the Gulls must now get prepared to face their fears in the Premiership in season 07.
Motley Barnets 3 vs 4 GSH
GSH Manager Dennis was clearly delighted as his team secured a play off place. It has been a great season for GSH and can now look at the possibilities of two team trophies if they win both the play off and the Reds Cup.
City Rejects 2 vs 2 Pudlians
League Cup Semi - Final 2nd Leg
Pudlians minus the suspended Darren Cooke took a shock 2-0 lead early doors and that get them right back in the tie overall. The goals came from Adam and the Pudlains were playing at a pace that was frustrating City Rejects. Rejects went on to dominate possession from the middle of the first half as Pudlians chose to shut up shop and defend the equal aggregate scorline and went into the second half with that in tact. Pudlians come out the second half and attacked and should have taken the lead but for Carl in the Rejects goal but they wilted under the pressure eventually as Danny Elkin and David Morris both found the net and them two gaols took Rejects into the Final
Indoor Milan 4 vs 6 Playerz
League Cup semi-final 2nd Leg
It was for some a game that they didn’t want to see due to the 1st leg antics but on the other hand it was such a tempting game to allow your eyes to see. Thankfully the game was played in a better spirit than the first however both teams were fully committed and Indoor Milan looked the more likely come away with the final place in their pockets but some poor defence errors cost them and the Playerz will now face City Rejects in a blockbuster final
City Rejects 1 vs 7 Excelsior
Inter League Cup
A tie in which Rejects have never won and on Sunday showing they never will. Excelsior were just to red hot for the Sunday side and Ash was the main man displaying his undoubted talent hitting two and creating more.
FC Butterbean 2 vs 6 Cov Legion
A scoreline that doesn’t reflect the game as FC Butterbean on another day could have easily won the tie. Big striker Will was guilty of missing several chances and had Butterbean had the clinical side of their attack as Legion had they would have taken something from the game. Legion led 2-1 at half time but found their scoring boots the second half and will also be thankful to keeper Carl ‘The Animal’ Pick Up who should his keeper credentials much to the delight of the balcony watchers.
St George Utd 4 vs 3 Motley Barnets
When we resume in the autumn with Season 07 these two sides will be leading contenders for the Division One title. This season may have come a little to soon for the newcomers but on this display both can go far. Barnet’s really should have took home the 4pts after coming from 2-0 down to lead 3-2 but St George’s gifted striker Ash stole the show with two late goals to cap of a fine season the British Bulldog. Barnet’s could look at this season with a little downcast with the fact that they just missed out on all title fronts but from our view they have overachieved and credit must go them all for the level they performed at over the season and with3 P.P.V appearances and the possibility of still winning the New Team Cup credit must go to the management of Motley Barnet's.

Allstar Rev 4 vs 6 Playerz
Inter League Cup
An absolutely fantastic game of football after some of the recent ugly incidents that have reared their heads of late is was refreshing to see two top teams get their heads down and fight out an exhibition of exhilarating football. Allstar Revolution dominated the first half and went in 4-3 to the good but yet again the Allstars failed to hold on the lead against one of the top draw teams and it was Gino who secured the passage to the Quarter finals with the very last kick of the game. The two clash again this week in the league which will see the winners almost guaranteed runners up in the league and trophies to go their mantle pieces.
