300 Spartans 3 vs 2 Butterbean SC

Spartans have found red hot form at the wrong time as they notched their twelfth win of the season. The game was very defensive minded with both teams showing their abilities in this area but it was Alec’s brace which was the attacking highlight of the match.
FC Heat 10 vs 5 M.Barnets
Inter League Cup
Cup specialist’s FC Heat reached another quarter final with this excellent victory. Motley Barnets were always second best in this game and their snail pace style football allowed the attacking thrust of Heat’s Tom Gault, Jason Wigmore and new signing Kyle to do the damage with Kyle and Jason sharing eight of the ten goals Heat scored.
FC Heat 1 vs 1 Butterbean SC

Butterbean SC can be very tricky opponents all be it inconsistent but never the less they are always dangerous. The returning Gaz Tutty scored the only goal up until midway through the second half when Richard Slack equalised.

City Rejects 6 vs 0 Cov Legion

City Rejects had been absent for the last few weeks, some say through players being away others saying they were grieving at the realisation that yet again they would be the season 06 league bridesmaids. Which ever it was Rejects came back in a ruthless mood they had Rob back to his dazzling best, Jason glowing in his striker role and the resigned Mark Quinn also showing he can function in the Rejects team. Legion were just one step behind all game and couldn’t cope with the pace of attack by Rejects and they didn’t have much luck either at the business end as Peden, James and Co found Carl in the Rejects goal just simply unbeatable and he becomes the second Rejects goalkeeper to be entered into the clean sheet club.Paul suffered a broken hand in four places after a freak accident in which Mark Quinn struck a shot which hit Paul’s hand, You can read Mark Quinn’s Greatness week in words now in the
Quinn t Essentials.
City Rejects 6 vs 4 Pudlians
League Cup Semi - Final 2nd Leg
City Rejects have half the job done after beating the Pudlians in what can only be described as a ‘physical encounter’. Pudlians did themselves no favours having two players sin binned for violent conduct. The shame about one of the sending's off was that Daz Cooke who hit 4 goals in the game will now have to sit out six games for the build up of discipline issues throughout the season. Daz has been a remarkable player this season when he has played with his feet but sadly he sometimes lets the red mist descended and will now sit out the remainder of the season and could also miss the Presidents Cup.
Toon Army 3 vs 11 The Business
New Team Cup
Business manager Steve is still on course for his first title after his team destroyed Toon Army. The Army were still partying on cloud nine after wrapping up the Division One title earlier in the night neither the less Business still did a number on the champs and will play Motley Barnets in the next round.
GSH 2 vs 5 Butterbean SC

A Will hat trick and one each from Jamie and Macca was enough to condemn GSH to another league defeat. Man of the Match Will was outstanding in the first half where he hit his sublime hat trick and he also seemed to carry the team to the victory and many wonder how he was left out of the International series 3.
City Seagulls 5 vs 1 The Business

Seagulls had a job to do and that was win the game and they destroyed the Business with a clinical display. A hat trick from Lee and two from Frost putting the goals in the Gulls with Business solitary goal coming curtosey of Goth.

Toon Army 4 vs 7 St George Utd

There was joy for St George United as they were able to humble the confident City Seagulls. The quality of both sides was on full view in the 1st half as both sides played some attractive football and the teams could not be separated in that half (3-3). The Gulls strikers Nick Frost and Lee K were a constant thorn in the St Georges side with Nick Frost scoring a wonder goal however their performance was equaled by the St Georges keeper Stuart who pulled off countless saves to deny the Gulls more goals. St George won the game though with their tactical decision to counter attack the Gulls and scored a wonder goal themselves thanks to the ever impressive Carl.

*News in Brief would like to apologies to Paul of St George for wrongly labeling him the Villain of the hour when St George got knocked out of the REDS Cup on penalties. Paul's agent told our senior management "Paul is upset that his image has be tarnished and would like an apology so he can continue to look in the mirror and think wow what a man" The penalty was missed by Carl.
