FC Butterbean vs Lloyds Bar
Goes to Jags Army Goalkeeper Geoff who showed his quality in the J' s two victories this week
Cov Faders vs Cov Legion
The game was marred by the 'misssing in action' Hall of Fame and Cov Legion manager Raff who never misses his sunday football we all hope he is well.
Back to the game and it was Cov Legion who got off to a winning start with an 11 -3 defeat of the newcomers. Tompkins and Ian ran the show and could even afford the sin bin of Tompkins who was sent from the pitch after a clash with Faders Andy Harbourne. Faders can take heart from their performance in their premiership bow.
Allstar Revolution vs M.V.P'S
The game saw the return of former Top goalscorer and multiple time champion Hamed and he looked fresh and focused on his return. The burly striker netted a hat-trick on his return and could well be the missing jigsaw piece in Allstars assault on the Premiership title. MV.P’S contributed to a very entertaining game but lacked a marksman as out of sorts Mark Quinn was poor by his own admission and despite leading 3-2 at the break MV.P’S lack of firepower showed and they ended up on the wrong side of 6-4.
City Rejects vs Assassins
The no show of the KV Tooters did not hinder City Rejects game plans as they faced replacement team Assassins after an abysmal season 05 City Rejects knew that a good start was paramount.
City Rejects were ruthless and dispatched the Assassins clinically. The classy Jason was back to his best with a display of real dominance despite not getting on the score sheet he was instrumental in all of his team’s goals which gave his team the 6-4 victory
Old Boys vs Assassins
Assassins faced a tough prospect in getting anything out of this game especially without a goalkeeper but they took the game to Old Boys and went head to head with them at the passing game and matched them well and even took a 3-2 lead into the second half but as so many teams over the years who have gone toe-toe with the Old Boys ran out of steam and that allowed them to do what they do best... put tired teams to bed so it was good night Assassins and they closed their eyes to an 8-4 defeat.
Never Enough vs Pudlians
It was back to the day job for champs Matty and Co as Never Enough cruised to a 4-1 victory, they didn’t have it all their own way however as Pudlians more than matched the Champions in periods in the game but that bit of star quality found in young Dan’s boots was the difference. The Season 05 Young Player of the Year was phenomenal and is rightly earning the tag as the best young star 5Star Promotions have within its company.
A replay of the Presidents Cup semi-final but this time the outcome was different as Lloyds Bar gained some revenge over their long standing foes. The game was a good contested affair with both teams producing some decent football at times but with Lloyds Bar down to the bare bones it was a perfect time for Butterbean to steal 4pts and continue in their fine recent vain of form but for some reason Butterbean struggled to click into gear and it was Lloyds Bar who deserved the points when it was all said and done. 8-7
Jags Army vs Danny's Boys
Two of our new teams went head to head and it was the better team who come out on top as Jags Army showed they are genuine title contenders winning the game 6-1.
Jags Army vs Toon Army
There has emerged a new goalkeeping talent and he was one of the main reasons for Jags Army second win of the night. Jag’s Army were just too good for the Toon as Andy B (3), Steve (5), Chris and a brace from Paul N gave them any easy 11-3 victory. Jag’s keeper Geoff has certainly caught the eye of the International scouts and could well replace Captain Luke Maslin in the next squad.
FC Heat vs Crossbar
FC Heat made it 4pts in the REDS Shield courtesy of a 7-4 victory.
Football Factory vs Crossbar
Crossbar recorded their first victory with an 11-4 win over fellow newcomers Football Factory.
An opening day derby clash as the two rivals went to battle again. The game was fast paced and was littered with International stars and it was properly the most famous who made the difference as Danny Thomson showed he is a level above his counterparts and drove his team home to a fully deserved 7-5 win.
City Seagulls vs FC Heat
The transfer rumours between the two squads over the possible move of 300 Spartans Alec to the seagulls had dominated the headlines pre match and added a little spice to an already important game. It was a tense affair and only one goal could separate them and that goal was scored by City Seagulls who took a 3-2 score line and 4pts back to their nest.
City Seagulls vs 300 Spartans
The Business got to a flyer with a shock 10-6 win over the much fancied Spartans left sided international Jon was excellent netting 3 and was dually award M.O.T.M
The Business vs 300 Spartans
They have arrived and arrived in style after much hype the Motley Barnets finally got the first chapter in their history under way and they impressed, crushing the Drive By’s 11-1. With regular shot stopper Chris on the sidelines Barnets were given special dispensation to field GSH keeper Phil and he gave the Barnets a platform to build off and with Nick J and the BIG man Johnny W netting 4 along the way things look very bright for the future of the club in o6.
Motley Barnets vs Drive By FC
GSH vs Toon Army
GSH took the spoils 8-4.
GSH vs The Business
A great tussle between two improving sides but it was GSH who took 4pts with a 6-5 win, Sanj of GSH was excellent throughout and was the springboard for the victory.
