We never thought when your team started that you would be here under the seven questions spotlight answering questions on your first cup final! But here we are and we welcome you
Thank you for the opportunity to answer the big seven. If we’re honest we didn’t think we’d get this opportunity in our first season either.
In our opening conversation we highlighted that we never thought Pudlians/Mean Machine would be in the spotlight after you came to the company via rival leagues with a reputation and the team certainly lived up to that reputation in the early months of joining us. Do you feel the ‘reputation you had was justified and what has bought about the change in your clubs disciplinary actions.
I don’t think it is justified we’re just passionate about football. The change in our discipline is that we’ve learnt from our mistakes, our team mentality has changed, we play as a team now rather than individuals, with a little guidance from 5star promotions.
Mean Machine are sat on the top of the Friday First Division and you are all but confirmed champions did you feel you could perform to such a level at the start of the season?
We’ll keep it short and sweet “yeah” (Laughs), but seriously when we started out at the beginning of this season we didn’t think we’d be in the position that we are i.e. top of the league and in a cup final. Don’t get me wrong it’s not been an easy ride but we’ve played ourselves to the top.
You are looking at an impressive league and cup double as well this season and the final is taking place this Friday at the Greatness P.P.V are the whole team confident in winning the match?
As a team we are confident in winning the game, but as everyone knows when you’re in a cup final it’s never an easy game but we’ll work hard for our first trophy.
Inter Girls are the opponents and they failed in the final in season 05 and their camp has stated they have learned from the experience. They have also added some quality and depth to their squad this season, tell us what you know and expect come game time from Inter Girls?
If we’re honest we don’t really know Inter Girls that well but from the two close games we’ve played against them this season we know we’re guaranteed a extremely tough game especially with the prize that’s on offer to the winners.
We would like to send our condolences to your defender Lee whose father passed away last Friday evening is the Big Man available and in the squad for the Final?
Lee will appreciate your condolences, as for him playing in the final there’s some doubt but we hope he’ll be there as he is one of the major reasons we’re in the final. We’d like to dedicate the match to Lee’s father.
You have become Division One’s International keeper this season and your thoughts on the international experience and tell our readers the season so far from Anthony Charley’s eyes?
I would like to thank Mark for giving me the opportunity to play in the internationals it has been a fantastic experience. As for the season I wouldn’t have had the season I’ve had without the support of my team-mates.
Well our time is coming to an end and Greatness is upon us and To be great you have to do great things can Mean Machine become a 5Star Great and clinch the Reds Cup to sit alongside the almost confirmed Division One title?
With the depth in squad that we have we know we have the ability to win the cup and league double, but as ever it all depends on the night.
