NIGHT OF CHAMPIONS
HOW THEY RATED
BOYS R BACK vs SOMETHING ELSE
Boys R Back, already crowned CLUB HEAT Premiership league champions were looking to add another piece of silverware to there cabinet as they aimed to complete the second stage of there treble winning campaign.

Something Else’s league form of late has been somewhat disappointing and this was the perfect platform to rectify that and finish the season with something to show for there efforts early on in the season. Danny Thompson, who many had claimed before hand to be the key to Something Else winning this game, got them off to the perfect start opening the scoring after just 2 minutes with a typically powerful effort from just outside the area.
Boys R back quickly put that behind them as they set there usual passing style in motion, knocking quick one, two passes around forcing Something Else to run and chase and it was Kim who found Stu in acres of space after 4 consecutive passes and he duely slotted the ball past Matty G.

It was then Kim’s turn to turn defence into attack as he started the move from the back and after a neat one, two with Melussi before scoring an excellent placed shot into the far corner. Something Else were again struggling to come to terms with the quickness of Boys R Back as they controlled the tempo for much of the 1st period.

Steve Reece did however manage to pull the game level going into the break with an incisive break away, leaving both Kim and Lil Muzzy in his path he strode through before blasting his shot underneath Sucki to at least give them a life line in a half they shouldve been losing.
The half time team talk didn’t seem to inspire Something Else as the marking again was lapse allowing Mel far too much time to turn and score an easy effort giving Boys R back a
3-2 lead, and it wasn’t long before they increased that lead as lil muzzy got in on the act causing havoc on the ball as noone closed him down.

Boys R back confidence began to show through as the show boating emerged. Melussi in particular enjoying his football and his 2nd goal epitomised that after some excellent close ball control switching from his right foot to his left and leaving Andrew Watts dumbfounded before slotting past a static Matty G.

Within a few seconds Though Steve Reece grabbed his Second and Third goals of the evening in almost identical fashion to level the score at 4-4, the ball through the middle for him to run onto and both goals were dispatched into the far right corner leaving Sucki no chance. Something Else were beginning to look like they might snatch it.

However, as we’ve seen far too many times this season they have switched off at the wrong time and Mel soon capitalised with his hat trick. Mel continued to terrorise the Something Else defence with his quick feet and should’ve put the game beyond doubt as he missed a glorious chance after some excellent play with Stu.

Stu did increase there lead moment later with a long range effort and Mel put the game beyond doubt with a simple free kick with only a minute remaining.
Something Else summed up there season with this below key showing as they started brightly but lost there way towards the end.
Boy’s R Back

Sucki
Commanded his area well and made some crucial saves especially in the second half.
Rating 7

Kim Green
Was fired up for this encounter and his organisation of Boys R Back was pivotal in the victory
Rating 8

Muzzy
Was effective throughout and his mazy runs caused Something Else real problems
Rating 7

Young Muzzy
Back to his sizzling best, scored some great goals and was delivered that killer instinct that he often promises.
Rating 8

Stewart
The Kanye West look alike put in a functional performance and rarely lost any 50/50 challenges.
Rating 7

Meluci
Was good throughout but let his self discipline slip on a few occasions if he got back to what he does best he would again be the most feared player within the company.
Rating 7

Something Else

Matty Gee
Turned up late and his performance reflected that. Not one of the ‘No1’s’ best games and watched more a s a bystander to some of Boys R Back goals.
Rating 6

Kev Reece
A poor showing by the usually reliable full back, struggled with the movement of the Boys R Back strikers.
Rating 6

Steve Reece
A tenacious player who gave his all but on this occasion his all was not good enough.
Rating 7

Danny Thompson
Seems to have lost a yard of pace and was not at his best. Normally Danny would relish such a game but for whatever reason the Hitman we all know didn’t turn up.
Rating 5

Andy Watts Jr
Another disappointing display from a Something Else player, we are all still waiting for Andy to produce the kind of performance that can win massive games like these neither the less he is still a prospect to watch out for.
Rating 6

Andy Watts
Was sent off late in the second half for a wild challenge from Meluci, the challenge was more frustration than malice but the player/manager must now face up to a season without a major honour and must now pin all his hopes on the Champions League final vs The Playerz next Friday.
Rating 4

Johnny B
Could never stamp his authority on the game and was on the edge of it for most of the game
