This was always going to be to be the game of the season, with so much at stake the winner of this fixture was destined for “Greatness” and undoubtley the league winners, with so few fixtures left the victorious team would take some catching.

The game got off to a cagey affair with both teams a bit wary of one another, it was Something Else however that looked the more likely to score with Steve Reece and young Andrew Watts putting the pressure on the Boys R Back back line and it wasn’t long before Reece gave them a deserved lead with a low shot after some good work down the right from Andrew.

Boys R Back kicked into gear and threatened a few times themselves with Melussi looking sharp as ever but it was Kev Reece that gifted them the equaliser after some sloppy defending gave the ball away for Kim Green to coolly score past the stranded Matty G.

With so much counting on the outcome it was no wonder there was mistakes being made as the game became a little scrappy with neither team really threatening to take the lead, that was until Steve Reece found himself in acres of space, but he dithered on the ball allowing Kim to get back and block his shot, the rebound fell to Chucksy who’s clearance hit Kim and rebounded off towards Sucki who dived to save the effort but only managed to parry the shot into the path of Thommo who obliged by slotting into the open net for a 2-1 lead.

The lead didn’t last long however, as Melussi, Kim and Muzzy began to pass the ball around and with the missing Dave Jones, Something Else didn’t look as composed at the back and it showed as Kim played a delightful ball through the middle for Muzzy to run onto and with Matty G at full stretch to block the shot, Muzzy cheekily lobbed his effort over the despairing Goalkeeper making the half time score 2-2 in an evenly matched 1st Half.

The second half saw Boys R Back begin to take control, again there passing ability forcing Something Else to chase the ball seemed to be working as Chucksy released Muzzy with another excellent through ball for Muzzy to meg Matty G in goal, 3-2 to Boys R back.

After missing a glorious chance Thommo was awarded a free kick just outside the box as he hit a trade mark curler into the far corner which Sucki had no chance with.  3-3, the game was now beginning to open up with both teams looking for the winning goal, but the influential Kim Green was proving a rock at the back and was cleaning up everything and it was his quick thinking that set up Melussi, after dispossessing Andy Watts he played a first time ball out to Muzzy who slipped in Melussi who in return produced a moment of magic as he flicked the ball in between Kev Reece and Andrew Watts and left them in a tangle before slotting past the GK.

Something Else threw everything forward looking for the equaliser and it nearly backfired as Chucksy missed a sitter to put the game beyond doubt as he blasted over when it was easier to score. The all out attack was eventually there downfall as they were left exposed at the back with only a couple of minutes remaining Muzzy found himself on his own one on one with Matty and there was only going to be one outcome as the impressive Muzzy bagged his hat trick to give them a 5-3 win but more importantly the league title is now there’s to be lost.
