GOAL SCORER CHART
In the penultimum fixture of the LeagueofChampions it was rightly the 2 best football teams in the Friday night that would compete for the ‘big one’.
Both team’s fluent passing and one touch football has wowed players and fans alike throughout this competition and many had predicted ECCC to dethrone the mighty Arsenal FC.
ECCC took the lead with an excellent break away goal after Mel hit his free kick straight at the wall, the ball fell to Roy whose first time pass picked out Rich to fire past a stranded Sucki.
ECCC looked composed as usual and had whispers in the stands of a walk over.
Arsenal had other plans and some excellent inter play between Lil Muzzy and Melusi saw them equalise, Muzzy delighting the watching crowd with his footwork before slotting home.
Arsenal were beginning to shine and Lil Muzzy and Mel were causing no ends of problems with there quick one twos. Rich Swaffield was called into action 3 times to deny Muzzy, one save was world class as muzzy shot looked goal bound. Lil Muzzy was on fire, he finally beat Swaffy in goal but saw his shot rebound off the bar. Within minutes though he had given them the lead, his trickery fooling the goalkeeper as he deftly flicked the ball over Swaffield.
It was Melusi’s turn to hit the woodwork as his long range effort crashed back off the post, and the constant pressure that Arsenal were putting on ECCC saw Muzzy once again hit the bar. ECCC did have there moments but for some superb defending from Kim Green frustrating the likes of Rich Lee and Vallance. Arsenal increased there lead just before the break as Melusi glided past two challenges before rifling in his shot.
Within minutes of the restart Mel and muzzy played a one two and Muzzy scored a super goal in the top corner. Sucki was eventually called into action and he didn’t disappoint pulling off a save from Rich Lee.
Muzzy and Mel once more turned ECCC’s defence inside out as they created there own chance out of nothing for Mel to slot into an empty net. Sucki found himself having to make a save from a Kim Green back pass which nearly trickled in before Vallance broke free on a rare occasion to give ECCC slight hope.
The last few minutes saw ECCC attack like we know as they carved out a few openings but struggled to pose any real threat in front of goal.
Rich Lee hit the crossbar in the final few seconds but it was a little too late to salvage anything from a game Arsenal FC ended comfortably.
