What the Manager's said:
Team Friday Manager Mark says:
I’m thoroughly proud of this performance especially having 4 players pull out in the last 2 day’s, my cover players Gavin and Adam were more than capable replacements as there performances showed. Everyone played there part and kept the ball when they needed to taking off the pressure from the back and when they were beaten they found the impressive Anthony Charley in fantastic form, A battling display is all I could’ve asked for and that is exactly what I got, I was very impressed with my captain Steve who showed that grit and determination counts for far more than fancy footwork and showboating.
Team Sunday Manager and 5Star supremo The President says:
"These fixtures put players on a very big stage, the lights are bright, all eyes are on them and there is no where to hide and on this occasion our big players froze on stage. My squad was picked on current form and on paper I had a squad who had all the statistics to blow our opponents away but going back to my first point these Internationals are the BIG stage and I think some of my players underestimated the quality and the pace the game is played at and their abilities were exposed. However I am pleased with the application of the squad and the pain shown in defeat because losing should hurt and this one hurt just as much as the first so it’s on to the next international series and it’s down to my assistant Paul Price and me to come up with that elusive winning squad"

Anthony Charley GK
Fantastic debut international game, pulled of some fine saves especially in the 1st half. Nothing he could do for the 2 goals, will take something special to dislodge him from the next international game.
Rating: 8
Adam McBride
A late call up but he didn’t disappoint, solid at the back and capped his display with an awesome goal. Had a tendency to give the ball away unnecessarily but couldn’t fault his all round game.
Rating: 7
Steve Bolas (Captain)
Got himself in between the players and the ball and was a constant annoyance, never gave up the challenge and made some crucial interceptions, we eventually found Lee Konrath in his back pocket after the game.
Rating: 8
Carlos Vitorelli
Looks so cool on the ball, nothing fazed him, slowed the play down whenever he took the ball and took the pressure off when needed, also popped up with a fine goal.
Rating: 7
Gavin
Another late call up and what a decision it was as he capped his display with 2 goals, kept the ball moving and always looked to attack, Luke Maslin looked nervous whenever he had the ball and it showed as he let both his shots slip through.
Rating: 8
Karl Asaba
Frightening pace and looked to use it at any given opportunity, scored the first goal and a very well taken goal too, linked up with fellow Drog Carlos well and was unlucky not to score a second goal.
Rating: 7
Daz Cook
Showed his impressive league form as he ran at players constantly, missed a couple of early chances but made up for them with his goal, kept his temper in tact all game and will no doubt be a certain for the next call ups.
Rating: 7
Luke Maslin - FC Heat
Martin - GSH
Raff - City Seagulls
Jason Wigmore - FC Heat
Steve E - Danny's Boys
Johnny W - M.Barnets
Lee K - City Seagulls
Joe Barr - City Seagulls
Nick - Drive By FC
Luke Maslin GK - (Captain)
Not his best game by any stretch of the mind was at fault for at least 3 of Team Friday’s goals.
Rating: 5
Martin
Team Sunday’s star man. Handled his debut well, scoring and was strong in the tackle.
Rating: 7
Raff
Hall of Famer was steady when called upon his lack of pace was exposed again though.
Rating: 6
Joe Barr
Failed again to shine on the big stage.
Rating: 5
Lee K
The big striker was nullified by the experienced Steve Bolas and struggled to find his rhythm.
Rating: 6
Jason Wigmore
There was a lot of expectation on his shoulders and seemed to suffer stage fright but was always trying to prod and probe to unlock the door.
Rating: 7
Steve E
The high scoring striker looked a little overwhelmed by the pace of the game and was quite throughout.
Rating: 6
Johnny Wilkinson
A debut that will not be remembered.
Rating: 4
Nick
The young starlet tried to make an impact but just couldn’t get hold off the game as he would have wanted he did make it a scoring debut however.
Rating: 7
TEAM SUNDAY - How they rated
Team Sunday Assistant Manager Paul Price says:
"I think the first half was fine. We seemed to be just getting on top and I really thought the boys would kick on in the second half, but it wasn’t to be unfortunately. 2nd half, they didn’t turn up, and the work rate needs to be higher throughout the match. I think there’s a bit of work to be done with this team, but it will happen for us soon"
