HALF TIME -
Team Sunday 2 vs 3 Team Friday

FULL TIME- Team Sunday 5 vs 6 Team Friday
Ian Clelland GK     7

He pulled off some fantastic saves to keep the Friday team ahead in the second half. He was a little slow to react to the first and fourth goal but overall a key Player

Gavin Lee (Hall of Fame) Def and Captain   8

Kept the team shape, was missed when he left the pitch. His interceptions and man marking were excellent and even notched a rare goal.

Gavin Mid/Att   7

The youngest player on show and didn't look out of place. Overall a great debut.

Dave J Def/Mid   9

Friday Teams man of the match was awesome from start to finish.

Danny T Att  7

Was a quite debut for the talented left footer. Was only 90% fit but gave his all.

Ash D Mid/Att    7

Was excellent in the role handed to him, Harassed and battled all night.

Nick J Mid 7

Scored with his first shot. Was a surprise call up according to some but took his chance with both hands.

Pete  Def/Mid  7

A late call up after the withdrawal of Neil Beckett and slotted in well when called upon in defence. Solid in a tackle and has done his chances of a call up to the January squad no harm at all.

Matty Gee GK and Captain   7

Matty was it usual best making some fine saves and trying to direct the boys in front of him. Was at fault for Young Gavin’s goal

Tahir Def 5

Looked out of his depth at times. Had a good second half.

Liam Def   8

Many questioned his selection but he was the Sunday Teams star performer. Excellent in defence, made some great interceptions and played it simple.

Johnny B Mid 6

Was only in flirtation with the game without setting it alight.

Muzo Def/Mid
  6

The Big man was not really at the races but was a danger with the ball at his feet.

Steve R Att 5

A poor showing from the City Rejects star. Missed various chances in the second half which would have seen his team win comfortably.

Brian N Mid/Att 6

Wasn’t given time by the opposition to stamp his authority on the game.

Meluci Att 4

In a game in which he should have excelled the Old Boys wizard was very poor and the occasion passed him by.

What the Manager said:
Team Friday Manager Mark says:

“I am extremely proud of what my players achieved in this game. Dave Jones was fantastic but so were all my players. The players have laid down a standard and they will all be very hard to dislodge in future squads”

Team Sunday and 5Star Supremo ‘The President’ says:

“Losing hurts and this loss hurt. When a person becomes a champion or the best they have two choices become better and have the want to win more or become content with the mantle of a former ‘champion’ and Sunday we saw what choice each one of my players had chosen. Turning up with a reputation means nothing if you don’t have desire and passion to back it up FC Butterbeans Liam and my Captain Matty Gee typified what I call true champions and to them I say thank you for your efforts”
