Excelsior
In form James missing due to injury.
CLUB HEAT Friday League team Excelsior went into the game favourites after some recent excellent wins and Never Enough coming in to the game off the back of losing in the CLUB HEAT Cup final.
The game started out at a frantic pace and with in seconds Young Danny of Excelsior rasped a half chance which was well held by Matty Gee. The game continued to flow at a furious pace with Curtis Liburd seemingly putting everything into these first few minutes and the player saw of his chances go wide, hit the bar or well saved by Matty but after Noonie stole the ball from a daydreaming Danny Bell he fed in the young predator Scully who hit his teams first goal. Scully who on Sunday had a very poor performance in the CLUB HEAT Final was full of life buzzing around and dictating Never Enough’s play, he soon become provider as he walzted through and saw his shot rebound of the bar and fall to Johnny B who slotted home,
2-0 Never Enough!. Matty Gee had obviously done his homework and his players were playing out that game plan particularly on Curtis who was started to become increasingly frustrated by Never Enough’s efforts to mark him out the game. Despite having the lions share of possession Excelsior seemed clueless when getting into Never enough’s half. A quick free kick by Noonie put Never Enough 3-0 up.
Half Time - Never Enough 3 v 0 Excelsior
Excelsior came out in the second half shell shocked and started using their energy up like a rampant rabbit in a lesbian sex fest and Curtis again hit the bar and he become even more downhearted and frustrated as the ball rebounded to Paul who broke away and left Excelsior keeper Colin stranded to lead 4-0. The game was looking to be well over as Johnny B was showing and Oozing class and set up Never Enoughs own 'Young' Dan who hit a shot which squirmed under Colin to make it 5-0 and game over!? Yes...? after Curtis was sinbined for verbal dissent and the controversial striker left the pitch head bowed and into the sin bin to contemplate his actions. Was it over then.......??? No.....not if Excelsior had anything to do with it. They knew it was now or never and Excelsior's Dan started his teams come back with a fine back post effort despite being now 6-1 down excelsior attacked and were rewarded with their efforts as Dan hit a quick brace to leave the score
6-3,then 6-4 as Dean hit the back of the net. The turning point then come as Excelsior’s Gavin stepped up to take a penalty which was awarded after Noonie had infringed the area. Now Gavin claimed he had NEVER missed a penalty in his long 5 a side career but this time Gavin smashed the ball high and over as everyone held their breath. The penalty miss seemed to end the fight back and despite Curtis returning to the fray Excelsior were unable to do anything more and Johnny B made it 7-4 and victory for Never Enough.........SEASON O4 INTER LEAGUE CUP WINNERS!!!!!
