Kobras were unfortunate to find themselves 3-1 down at half time as they more than matched there opponents, Sucki was immense in the first half pulling off some brilliant saves to deny Nick and Matty. Carl Pickup found himself a little to far in the deep end against top quality opposition and Matty, usually so influential failed to get into the game as Boys R Back eventually ran out comfortable winners.

S.ELSE 7 v4 EXCELSIOR

FRIDAY 06th JUNE - League Cup Semi Final

With only the cup to play for Excelsior looked to hit Something Else hard from the start, unfortunately that’s exactly what they did but not in the way they should have. The game was always going to be a fiery one but not many would’ve expected it to almost be abandoned towards the end of the game. In football terms excelsior didn’t really get going as they found themselves 3-0 down at the break, they began to lose there heads early on and a few clumsy challenges followed.
As the game went on it was apparent Something Else was going to be winners as they were 6-1 up with just 4 minutes left before IT happened. A nasty challenge from Danny Bell set tempers flaring as goalkeeper Matty G was furious with what appeared to be an attempted stamp off the ball and a scuffle broke out involving players from the Excelsior bench as well as players on the pitch.
Once the fracas had calmed down and the players confirmed with the ref that all they wanted to do was play football and finish the game Excelsior looked more lively and began to play football like we know they can and they scored 3 goals in quick succession to put the frightners on S.Else, but Thommo eased the pressure with a fine goal of his own with just a minute remaining to set up a final against either Boys R Back .
