The evil master of 5-A-SIDE history, who rules from his titanic towers of evil, takes great joy in robbing his followers of cherished memories. He has even gone so far as to wave his billion-dollar wand on more than one occasion in an attempt to completely erase particular pockets of time. Well, we, the people, have refused to stand for such injustices, and as a result, I have been called upon to right the wrongs of time.
This week I'm prepared to take heat for covering this rivalry. But I stand by this rivalry as one that 5star has failed to properly acknowledge over the years, regardless of its cult status with die-hard fans.

The rivalry between the godfather and the maverick is steeped in history, stretching beyond their time in the 5star world.
Much like the Michael Jackson story it has 3 significant stages.

BENEFITS V FRAUD
Indeed the paths of these 2 legends first crossed in the great footballing rivalry, Housing Benefit Office Versus Frad Department, as each was working for the respective office at the time, over the course of 2 years, many battles were had, with never an outright winner settled as the momentum swing this way then that way.
Frost and Maslin quickly became the captains of the respective teams, with legends such as 'Suntan Steve', 'Mad Mick' and James 'Chopper' Cudmore the battle scars of these weekly encounters are evident even now.
While an outright winner was never crowned, Maslin was the first to quit the series, leading many fans to believe that frost is the moral victor of this titanic power struggle.

TOADS V EVOLUTION
Immediately following BENEFITS/FRAUD saga the The Godfather entered a team into the 5star league known simply as 'Mowdown' Luke was swiftly signed up, he bought with him local Earlsdon resident Joe Barr and the makings of a good team was evident. However after a string of poor results and on the pitch disagreements would lead to Maslin and Barr launching a breakaway team Evolution.
What followed was a bitter rivalry between The Godfather and the Maverick as a season long feud began.
Evolution were bringing new stars to 5star the likes of dangerous Dave bell, Andy “spliff” Smith a goal scoring sensation, the veteran Paul Bowell and young starlet Chris Evans. the teams clashed on several occasions including Evolutions first ever match where they edged the Toads by a single goal.
One fan recalls Joe Barr coming of the bench to score 3 goals in 3 minutes to bring about a 11-8 league win for evolution. another fan recalls the battle fought out between Dave bell and Jason 'Ninja' Tse nearly leading to a MMA bout.
when the dust settled it was Evolution who reigned supreme over the Toads outperforming them in every competition.
After this however, Evolution folded, while Joe Barr returned to the newly renamed Toads, Luke returned in a manager capacity only, however this was short lived as a string of poor results led to the Godfather dispensing of Luke's managerial services.

CITY SEAGULLS V FC HEAT
Luke found another new home at FC Heat, and over the course of the last 3 seasons has a series of battles with the Gulls, which culminated in the final season, where Frost and Barr formed one of the deadliest partnerships ever seen in a Championship season, Barr winning numerous player of the months and frost winning player of the year, eventually though Heat would pip them on the final day on goal difference, many fans feel to this day that the Gulls were robbed in this season as controversy surrounded every game between the Gulls and Heat, not least the signing of one of the 5star Worlds best players for 'one game only' to play against the Gulls.
This feud is notable for 2 games that will forever be remembered by the 5star world, the first, Joe Barr had been wrong fully dismissed for piling into a 50/50, the godfather incensed by this notched an incredible 9 goals in this game to take a heroic win. The second is perhaps one of the most memorable games in 5star, a game that literally had it all.
It started off quietly enough until Cliff Hollywood Darby barged into Mercid, receiving a yellow card for a 3 minute sin bin, during this period heat took a 2-0 lead as Frost Barr and Hallett defended like mad until Cliff was allowed back onto the pitch, with it now once again even numbers the gulls really went for it, taking the lead 5-3 with Konrath grabbing a hat trick. and Barr 2.
Half time and the score was level at 6-6 Frost and Wigmore having a running battle constantly trying to one up each other, it was end to end as the lead continually swung both ways when suddenly there was chaos as Mercid went straight into the back of Barrs ankle, Barr reacted angrily with a slap, Mercid tried to pull Barrs glorious bouffant hair, Hallett charged in with an elbow so it was Mercid and Barr received straight Reds, Hallett received a yellow and the Gulls were down to 2 people and heat down to 3 with 5 minutes to play and the gulls holding a one goal lead. The gulls opted for their 2 fastest players available, frost and cliff to try and keep the ball which they did for around 3 minutes before finally succumbing to the pressure of having a man less to concede an equalizer with 2 minutes to go. with about 30 seconds to go, Frost managed to nip by Tom Gault before playing a one two with Darby and lashing a shot towards the top corner, Maslin pulled off perhaps the greatest save of his career and the ball bounced to Wigmore who had the simple task of slotting past Dave with literally seconds left to go to break Seagull hearts.

Now after 4 months out of the spotlight the Maverick is back, seeing what the Godfather has accomplished, headlining the last 2 PPV's, becoming the face of the company, The Maverick will stop at nothing to regain top spot.
Joining A-Stars, the team where the Godfather first became a household name, he has challenged the City Seagulls to a three stages of Hell match in an effort to take down the Mafia once and for all.

Both have been pioneers, both have made an incredible contribution to the 5star World and both are champions, but in the end only one can stand tall and the problem is, Luke has been out of the game for to long and doesn’t realise what he has gotten himself into...
