THE SEAGULL LEGACY
It was a must win game for Inter Girls if they were to keep up with the league pace setters and not drift away.
Drogs had a full strength team, if anything perhaps too many as they looked to rotate between 10 players, giving them less time to gel together.
Inter Girls took full advantage with there most prolific striker Lee Konrath powering in the 1st goal of the night after some lackluster defending from Drogs.

Drogs piled on the pressure looking for the equalizer but some excellent defending from the ankle biter Steve Bolas ensured they didn’t get too far.
The pressure eventually paid off with Drogs own goalscoring machine Jnr finding the finishing touch to a nice move.

Inter Girls then took control of possession, Nick Frost forcing Glen into 2 fine saves, all the attacking play was coming from Inter Girls but they were struggling to find a way through.
Drogs had one final attack of the 1st half on the break away and Lyle found himself unmarked after good work from Mark and scored a finely placed shot to give them a slight advantage at half time.
The 2nd half got under way in pretty much the same manner, Steve Bolas firing his team level with a drilled shot into the bottom corner.
Inter Girls kick started themselves after that goal and the possession they were having was eventually turning into goals, Lee Konrath finding the net another 2 times before Drogs had a sniff of goal.

Another swift counter attack saw Drogs pull a goal back through Jnr again, but the momentum only lasted a few minutes as Inter Girls Jonathan slipped the ball between goalkeeper Glens legs to extend there lead.

Inter Girls were moving the ball around nicely, Lee Konrath and Jonathan linking up nicely. Drogs were finding it hard to cope with Konrath’s strength on the ball and it wasn’t long until he punished them again and put the game beyond doubt with his 4th of the night.

Drogs Ballacks perhaps a little over confident going into the game, manager Keith leaving himself out of a very large squad, and needing to fit match time in for every player proved to be a headache on the night.
