Both teams were unbeaten going into the fixture and it was G-14 that looked like they were going to remain that way as they stormed into a 2-0 lead, Thommo opening the scoring having dispossessed Kim Green to score the one on one with the goalkeeper.
Ash McBride doubling the lead with a clean strike that sucki couldn’t handle.
G-14 almost found themselves 3-0 up as Thommo was having the time of his life down the left, finding so much space and he really shouldve scored when he blazed a free shot high and wide.
Arsenal FC weren’t looking there usual self in possession, giving the ball away needlessly but as everyone knows, never write them off, they will always get chances and they scored from there first real one.
Melusi finding his way through the defence before coolly dummying the keeper and scoring.
It wasn’t long until they were on level terms, Mel again the goalscorer drilling in along range effort.
Arsenal were picking up the pace as they got more into there stride as the half went on.
G-14 needed goalkeeper Ian Clelland to rescue them as he produced a top save from a long range Kim Green effort.
G-14 led at the break after an excellent counter attack, Thommo releasing Adam Lewis to score.
The second half saw Arsenal attack more, Brian winning a foul then scoring from a well worked free kick.
Within minutes appeals went up as Kim ran close to the penalty box but nothing was given.
G-14 took the lead once more through Adam with shouts that he was in the box, again nothing given.
With the game heading out all G-14 needed to do was keep possession and the win was theres… they didn’t and it wasn’t, lil Muzzy somehow finding the net from the tightest of angles, Defender Gav Lee looked to have shut him out in the corner but he unleashed a thunderous shot that keeper Ian could do nothing about as it crept in between him and his near post.
With just seconds left it looked like Arsenal were going to snatch a win, Melusi found himself free one on one with the keeper, but Iceman pulled off a stunning save that saved his team from a loss they wouldn’t have deserved.
Both teams still remain unbeaten but how will it affect G-14 in the long run, a game they shouldve won, and when you get the chance to beat Arsenal you really must take it.
