THE SEAGULL LEGACY
The grudge match and PPV Main Event pitted these 2 heavyweights against each other one more time.
after a tentative start Milan got the break through to go one up following a fine finish from Adam Lewis, The Showstoppa Joe Barr then had to sub off very early in the camp due to cramp/hangover which led to the introduction of the veteran Raff, who unfortunately just can not handle pacy players anymore it seems as he was turned easily instantly after coming on to send the gulls 2 nil down, some intricate passing between Hallett, Konrath and Frost led to Frost rolling a delightful finish into the bottom corner to half the deficit, before lil Ash launched a kung fu kick on Frost which caught square in the chest,a sin bin most would think, however not the Ref who scarcely said a word. with the gulls attacking another quick counter attack from Milan again left Raff chasing shadows and put Milan 3-1 up at half time.
The second half and the Gulls came out flying as shot after shot was saved by Ian who was having an excellent game the highlight being a low drive from Hallett which was heading to the bottom corner led to Ian flying across goal.
Milan hit another counter attack and put the game seemingly beyond reach at 4-1 however the Gulls continued to pour forward and Lee Konrath slammed a shot into the top corner to finally beat Ian to make it 4-2 and with 5 minutes remaining the Gulls again poured forward but this time were caught out by a long ball to Wigmore who inexplicably controlled the ball with his arm before running through to slot the ball away much to the amazement of everyone on the field. now if you control the ball with your hand weather intentional or not, it is a handball as you have gained an unfair advantage, this is football basics and its a shame to see these kind of decisions so badly wrong in big games, after the 5th goal the game just petered out to its climax, the only real action left in the game was when Frost and McBride went both went flying into a bone crunching 50/50 tackle which led to both players limping off shortly after.
